Indonesia invests nearly 800 million US dollars to expand Sukarno hada International Airport

　　Muhammad awaluddin, President and executive officer of Angkasa Pura II, Indonesia's state-owned airport operator, said recently that construction of terminal 4 of the country's Soekarno Hatta International Airport would begin in 2021.

　　Mohammed awaludin said the project will start in the first half of 2021 and is expected to be completed by 2024.

　　Terminal 4 will be located on 130 hectares owned by Angkasa Pura II, with an estimated total investment of 11 trillion rupees (US $777 million). The annual passenger throughput is 45 million, which will be larger than the terminal 3 of Sukarno hada International Airport.

　　Terminal 4 will be built in anticipation of a surge in international passengers. In 2018, the passenger flow of Sukarno hada International Airport was 67 million, a significant increase compared with 46 million in 2017. Awaludin said the airport currently serves 200000 passengers a day, with more than 1000 flights.

　　Terminal 4 will be built in accordance with the concept of intelligence and environmental protection, equipped with self-service check-in counter and the use of full body image X-ray security detector. Mohammed awaludin said the company will consider whether the new terminal will give priority to low-cost airlines or traditional airlines.
